BROCK: William Thomas of Toronto 1936 – 2022 Passed away at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in his 87 year. Cherished husband of Anne Brock for 61 years. Loving father of Karen (Greg), and the late Jeffrey. Proud grandfather of Emily. Dear brother and brother in-law of David Brock (Lydia), Sandy Brock, and John King (Mary). Predeceased by his brother Don Brock. Bill has several University degrees, including three honorary degrees. He had a very successful thirty-seven year career with Toronto Dominion Bank. Upon retirement, he was Deputy Chairman. A private family funeral service was held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Interment Exeter Cemetery. Larry Argue

ARGUE, Larry Passed away peacefully at his home in Guelph, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the age of 78. Larry will be deeply missed by his wife, Bette. Survived by Alison, Joeann, Vicki and Kim, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. Larry was a well travelled structural and Agricultural Engineer who started his career in the 1950's. He was a graduate of the University of Guelph where he also taught. Larry was a truly kind, caring and genuine person who touched the lives of many. He was an extraordinary individual who will be fondly missed. Details will follow for the memorial service in the spring. A tree will be planted in his honour at the Arboretum. BOGOSLOWSKI, Anthony Steven - Suddenly,onThursday April 18th, 2013 as the result of a motor vehicle collision, Tony Bogoslowski in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Eva (Filman) Bogoslowski (2002). Loving father of Myrna Fisk and her husband Jim of London, K. Eric Bogoslowski and his wife Sandra of Calgary, Alta. and grandfather of Kara and Adam Fisk and Ward Bogoslowski. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Bogoslowski, sister Helen Lukie, brothers Casey and John. Survived by his brothers Alexander, Michael and Peter and sisters Jean Urbanowicz and Olga Weiczorek. Tony taught for many years with the London Board of Education. Science and nature were his passions. He filled his retirement with travel, puttering in his garden, supporting his neighbours and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, an activity he shared for many years with Kara. His quiet support and ready help will be sorely missed.

Alan Christie

ALAN ERDMANN CHRISTIE, PhD. September 27, 1934 - January 10, 2017 Unexpectedly on January 10, 2017, Alan Erdmann Christie passed away at his home in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Carol Christie (nee Gill) for 57 years. Loving father of Ric (Laurie), Cathy and J (Sheryl). Extremely proud grandfather of Beth, Christopher, Emma, Evan, Gavin, Sean and Erica. Brother of Brian Christie (Janice), brother- in-law to Elaine Sheppard (Peter) and uncle to several nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by his parents Hugh Sr. and Ida, his brother Hugh Jr. (Skip), as well as his brother-in-law John. A graduate of the University of Toronto (Ontario Agricultural College) with a BSc and MSc and PhD from Purdue University, he pursued a career as an Environmental Scientist. During his career he worked for the Ontario Water Resources Commission, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Ontario Hydro and finally retiring from the Ontario Power Generation. Even in retirement, either in Toronto or at their second home (Petite Pre) in Prince Edward County, he continued to share his expertise with his former colleagues and to combine science with his hobbies whether it was curling, wine, beer and champagne making, painting, gardening or lengthy dinner discussions. A scientist to the end, he wanted his remains to be donated for medical studies. The family would like to thank the University of Toronto for making this possible. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date. If you wish to make a donation in Al's memory, a donation to your favourite charity in his honour would be appreciated.

BSc-Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, on Saturday, October 30, 2004, in his 69th year. Doug, beloved husband of marjorie Elizabeth (nee Baker). Predeceased by son Steven Douglas and sister Janet Isobel Hughes. Loving father of Kim and Rupinder Ubbi, Jan and Scott Miller, Robert and Corrina Colquhoun, and fond father-in-law of Danielle Colquhoun. Doug was the adored grandpa of Katelynn, Sarah, Matthew and Steven Ubbi; Eric, Claire, Andrew and Robert Miller; Devin Milligan, Julian and mackenzie Colquhoun; and Taylor Colquhoun. Much loved brother-in-law of Barry Hughes, Kathy Baker, George Baker and Rovert Baker and Janet McCallum. Dearly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Graduate of OAC 1958, Doug was a teacher and administrator with the North York Board of Education for over 30 years. He was an avid curler and Charter Memeber of Tam Heather Curling and Tennis Club. Throughout his retirement years, Doug and Marj passionately crafted and built the family cottage, 'Colbak Haven' on beautiful Lake Cecebe. Always a  gentleman with a great heart and a magnificent sense of humour, Doug made and valued countless friends in all his walks of life.

LEUTY, STANLEY JOSIAH “SI” Stan was born March 7, 1934, in Weston, Ontario, a son of the late James Henry Stanley and Nellie Evangeline (née Flatt) Leuty. Stan died unexpectedly and suddenly at his home in Meaford on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the age of 77. Stan will be remembered as the deeply loving and devoted husband of Myrna Jean (née Risebrough) who predeceased him in June 2011. Stan is remembered also as a loved Dad by his children Todd (Isabelle), Jennifer (Jack), and Michael (Natalie) and as a sadly missed Grandpa by his grandchildren: Michelle (Ryan), Daryl, Lindsay, Robyn, Nina, Claire, Scott, Aaron, and Emma. Stan was predeceased also by an infant son Peter in 1969, son Kirk in 1990 and by sisters Joy and Pat. He is also survived by his two sisters Mary (Don), and Johanna and will be fondly remembered by Barbara and Jim Beardsall. LARGE, Peter Geoffrey Scott P.Eng., SCA, OSA

March 19, 1935 - April 17, 2023

Beloved husband for 32 years of Margaret Crawford Maloney, died peacefully in Kingston after a short illness. Peter was a kind, good man, patient, generous, humorous, an excellent communicator and an empathetic listener. He was a joy to live with.  Born in Toronto to Wallace John Bulmer Large and Jeanette Silberman, Peter was predeceased by brother Donald Ross Large (Marie Therèse).Peter was a graduate of the Universities of Guelph and Toronto. His career was primarily with Shell Canada and then Professional Engineers Ontario, retiring as CEO. Peter wasalso an award-winning artist, working in oil, watercolour, and coloured pencil. He was a member of the Ontario Society of Artists, the Federation of Canadian Artists, and the Society of Canadian Artists of (which he had served as President). He was a professional member of March 19, 1935 - April, the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto for over 40 years and President in their Centennial Year. Peter's artwork is held in many private and corporate collections in Canada and abroad, including the Government of Ontario Archival Collection, the Shell Corporate Collection and the Museum of Lennox and Addington. He acted widely as curator, juror, and writer for many exhibitions. For over 20 years he maintained a studio on Amherst Island. With his wife Margaret he travelled extensively sketching and later producing detailed drawings. Peter's enthusiasm for the arts extended to theatre and music and over the years he volunteered on many boards.

Loving father of Doug (Mary), Rob (Leslie), Ian (Stacey), he is also survived by their mother Mary-Jane Horsefall, and grandchildren Tim and Jennifer and their mother Faith Hughes.

Cherished stepfather of Sarah (Ray), Brian, Mark (Isabelle), and Kevin (Alison). Adored by grandchildren Mollie, Kathryn and Maggie Cronin, Connor and Fiona Prior and their mother Anna, Perrine, Keiran and Arden Maloney.

Also mourned by nephews Ken, James and Tom Large.

The family is grateful for Peter's excellent care at the Kingston General Hospital and Providence Care Hospital, and for the tremendous outpouring of concern and support from friends.

A 58 Classmate'sTribute to Murray Maltby

It is inevitable as we approach our 60^th anniversary as a class that our ranks are thinned. Inevitable but no less sad—especially when one of our finest has been released from a long and difficult struggle. It is news to no one that Murray Maltby, with the constant support and love of his wife Cathy, has battled an affliction that robbed him of one of life’s great pleasures, the simple enjoyment of a good meal. Murray refused to take his life sentence passively but actually contributed to the science of his affliction by studying it carefully and formulating his own life saving nutrition. But this did not define him or restrict his work and contributions to society as a Teacher.

I recall on more than one occasion waiting with other classmates on the 18^th green as Murray and his great friend Stu O’Neil approached the last hole of a friendly but very competitive game with Stu making sure to help Murray in every way but both competing to win that last hole and maybe the round. Little is better in life than such great and enduring friendship. Our most sincere and respectful condolences to Cathy. Our fond memories of our classmate and friend, Murray, will endure.

MILLER, James Rysdale - it is with sadness that we announce the passing of James Rysdale Miller in his 82nd year, on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in St. Thomas, ON. Much loved by his wife Mary (Magee) Miller, his daughter Susan Hardman, (Steve), his son David (Sarah) and grandchildren Jessica (Tim), Martha, Rachel and Thomas. Survived by his sister Mary Ann Allison of Niagara Falls. Jim was a graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph, ON and worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, St. Thomas until his retirement. He was a proud volunteer with the St. Thomas Committee of Adjustment, the Christmas Shoppe and the Caring Cupboard. Beverley Gloin

Beverley Granville Gloin, loved husband of Margie (McGregor) Gloin passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 19, 2022. He will be missed by their children Greg(Jen Max) Gloin of Linwood and Kathy( Ken Bell) of St. Thomas. His grandchildren Kirsty(Sean), Riley( Chloe), Jake(Nikki), Leah(Ryan) and Brody(Addie) will remember all the fun times with Gramps planting the garden, driving the tractor, going for hikes, playing cards, playing Hook, and listening to the stories as part of a bedtime ritual. They learned much about nature from him. Bev and Margie enjoyed watching first their children and then the grandkids as they competed in various sports activities. Bev was predeceased by his parents Bertha(Copeland) and Granville Gloin and his brother and sister-in-law Don and Anne Gloin. He is survived by his niece Connie(Howard) Day and nephew Ken(Chele) Gloin. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Liz(Bill) van Zanden, Bonnie(Paul) Tait and his brother-in-law Jim(Catherine) McGregor and their families.

Bev was raised on the family farm, Talbot St. E, St. Thomas. Upon graduation from STCI, Bev attended OAC Guelph where he made many long-time friends and graduated with his Bachelor of Agriculture Science in 1958. Bev and Margie were married that summer and spent a year in Toronto as Bev completed his Degree in Mechanical Engineering at U of T. They settled back in St. Thomas in 1959. Bev spent 30 years at Fanshawe College, teaching for a couple of years and then working in the Physical Plant Department. After several years as Physical Plant Director, he retired in 1994.

 A new chapter began with Bev carefully planning many vacations. Somehow they usually managed to include steam train journeys. Through the years he particularly enjoyed planning and completing the many building renovations to their home. Bev was a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church and active on the Board of Managers, Men’s Brotherhood and Foodgrains Committee. He also enjoyed the friendships he made as a member of the Golden K and The Order of Good Cheer. Bev was a gentleman and a gentle man now off on his final journey. The funeral will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hinks Street, St. Thomas on Monday, May 23 at 2:00 pm. Masks required.
