"58 Chatter"

The following met for lunch and fellowship at Kelseys Before Murray's
service.
Don Amos, Ann and Mac Bolton, Doug and Catherine Keys, Bob and Barb Freure,
Bev and Marg Gloin, Stu and Jocelyn O'neil, Barney Moore, Jim Wilcox.
We all wondered how long Murray had his eating problem and it turned out to
be 47 years.
They have a great family of 2 sons and 1 daughter, 6 granddaughters and 2
grandsons.
Johan Bowman responded but was unable to attend.

Dear Mac,

Got Steven's email last week re the luncheon before Murray's funeral. Since

I haven't replied as yet, you probably assumed we wouldn't be coming. I just sent a

message to Stu letting him know that due to my ongoing health problems, we aren't

going to take on a ten to eleven hour road trip and won't be at the funeral.

Please say hello for us to any of the 58ers you see. Sorry we won't be there

but somehow hope to make it to our 60th next year.

Death Notice

MALTBY, Murray - Peacefully at home on Monday, July 31, 2017, Murray Delmer Maltby of London in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Catherine. Loving father of Jeffrey (Janice), Peggy (Brian) and Brian (Susan). Proud Grandpa of Alana, Marissa, Curtis, Jessica, Kate, Evan, Charlotte and Sarah. Dear brother of Cam and his wife Mary of Orillia, and the late Clare and his wife Eleanor of Wallaceburg.

Visitation on Monday from 7-9 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where the memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 8 at 2 pm. Visitation preceding the service from 1-2 pm on Tuesday. Casual attire welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A 58 Classmate'sTribute to Murray Maltby

It is inevitable as we approach our 60^th anniversary as a class that our ranks are thinned. Inevitable but no less sad—especially when one of our finest has been released from a long and difficult struggle. It is news to no one that Murray Maltby, with the constant support and love of his wife Cathy, has battled an affliction that robbed him of one of life’s great pleasures, the simple enjoyment of a good meal. Murray refused to take his life sentence passively but actually contributed to the science of his affliction by studying it carefully and formulating his own life saving nutrition. But this did not define him or restrict his work and contributions to society as a Teacher.

I recall on more than one occasion waiting with other classmates on the 18^th green as Murray and his great friend Stu O’Neil approached the last hole of a friendly but very competitive game with Stu making sure to help Murray in every way but both competing to win that last hole and maybe the round. Little is better in life than such great and enduring friendship. Our most sincere and respectful condolences to Cathy. Our fond memories of our classmate and friend, Murray, will endure.
